Duke of Edinburgh Program

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a non-competitive, internationally recognized program. It is designed to encourage young people to develop positive skills and lifestyle habits, so compliments the cadet program very well.

The Award is about personal challenge and development and is adaptable according to your interests and abilities. This award partners very well with the air cadet program.  It is a non-competitive program of voluntary activities that encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to yourselves and service to your community.

The program is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 24. The only exception is for youth who will be turning 14 before the end of the calendar year - in which case they can register for the program in September.

The Duke of Ed Award gives participants the opportunity to do something completely new and improve on things they are already doing. It is designed to take participants out of their comfort zone and into a place where they will push themselves and have amazing new experiences. Participants build confidence, resilience, skills for work, and friendship groups and have a fantastic time doing it.

There is a $50 registration fee for each level. However, once a level is completed, the squadron will refund the registration fee. If you complete your level, it will cost you nothing!
